Event: 24P High Definition production seminar
Organizer: ITVA (International Television Association)
Date: May 4, 2002 (All day Saturday Event)
Location: TBC
Join ITVA for a day of exploration, example & perhaps some exasperation as we take a critical look at the tools & methods of 24P High Definition production. The seminar will be led by internationally noted Director of Photography Derek Wan of All In One Productions. Derek’s credits include series work for HBO and Fox Television as well as numerous features, commercials and documentaries.
It's true...there is more than one High Definition production standard. However, unlike its 30fps interlaced cousin, this one is being touted as 'The' standard if you're looking for film-level image quality. George Lucas is shooting the next two episodes of his Star Wars epic in this format & numerous syndicated television series are replacing their film cameras with 24P (as in 'Progressive Scan) cameras.
The questions are many--how is this different from the interlaced format, what do I need to do differently to prepare for shoots, how will you distribute 24P material, what's the post-production infrastructure, and, more importantly, will this save your client money.
